The Solaray Group is a broadly-based Renewable Energy business, which comprises Solaray Systems (Pty) Ltd and Solaray Projects (Pty) Ltd, the latter being a level 2 BBBEE company.
The Group specialises in engineered solutions and project management, which enables it to provide turnkey Solar PV and Solar Thermal installations for commercial and industrial clients, as well as larger domestic properties and residential estates.
Solaray was first established in 1987, and it evolved from a solar water heating company to a developer of advanced solar products, including patented water heaters, Solar PV concentrator and tracking systems, module support structures, and differential temperature control systems.
More recently, Solaray has built on its core strengths of system design, finance, and general management to form one of the most professional and respected Renewable Energy firms in South Africa and the wider region.
Notable successes with Multinationals include 580kWp and 1.75MWp Grid-Tied Solar PV Systems, designed and implemented respectively at Man Truck & Bus, Pinetown and Toyota South Africa Manufacturing, Durban.
Solaray operates directly and in association with a number of highly reputable South African and International Associates.

Angus Scrimgeour
Chairman
Angus Scrimgeour, Chairman, is a former Vice President of the World Bank Group, and Chief Financial Officer of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. Prior to this he served as Deputy Chairman of Henry Cooke Group, and a Vice President of CitiBank, among other appointments. During his early career, Angus practiced as an architect, and his qualifications include Masters degrees at Oxford and London Universities.

Alan Swart, Managing Director, is a former director of JSE listed companies Dimension Data and Plessey, and he has held senior executive positions at Tetra Pak, Gold Circle, Sony, Universal Print Group and NCP Alcohols. He has a marketing and sales management background in 25 countries, 13 of which are in Africa, and he holds B.Com and B.Com Honors degrees.

Greg de Ricquebourg, Non-Executive Marketing Director, is the principal shareholder and Managing Director of Enertec (Pty) Ltd, which is a battery import and distribution company for Energiser and Discovery batteries. Enertec is headquartered in Durban, and it has a close association with Solaray. Prior to his business career, Greg was Colonel of an infantry regiment with a distinguished record, for which he was decorated by the post-apartheid government.
